A Bridge to the Future

The COVID era was particularly difficult for both of our school programs. Obviously when you’re not meeting in person it is difficult to sustain either program. Bridge to the Future was established to help sustain and cultivate financial vitality for our school programs during a stressful time.

Coming out of COVID has proven to be especially difficult for the Preschool. Parents seem to be reluctant to expose their preschool aged children to a close in-person setting. Indeed they may have also learned to prefer parenting in person. Whatever the reason, Trinity invested heavily in both supporting the program with funds, and promoting the program with substantial advertising. Despite these efforts, and prayer, it was decided this past school year, that the Preschool would be closing after over 40 years of serving Ithaca.

Trinity tries to be good stewards of God’s resources. As such we are very competitive in our tuition structure for children, and the congregation also picks up a substantial portion of the costs associated with the Afterschool program.

Bridge to the Future turned out to be a great blessing for both programs, and enabled us to have two full-time teachers dedicated to instructing and guiding the children in both programs. The Afterschool has been quite healthy, COVID only reinforced the need for children to be in-person, and families still rely on the excellent Afterschool care that Trinity Lutheran Afterschool is known for.

Every day our children learn about the world, their Creator, Redeemer, and Sanctifier, and how to live what Christ called “the abundant life” listening to His Word, serving Him and caring for His creation, and learning to love our neighbor through the lens of Christ.

Bridge to the Future will continue to serve as a blessing and catalyst for a healthy Afterschool program at Trinity for years to come. Thank you for supporting this critical ministry with your generous offerings!
