Our Mission at Trinity Lutheran Preschool
TO BE A BLESSING TO HELP CHILDREN GROW IN SPIRIT AND MIND AND BODY

Children grow in spirit by knowing that the Triune God loves them and that God is graceful toward them through Christ. We strive to love and nurture children as God calls us to do. We help children understand that God wants each of us to love and do good works, especially as a response to what He has done for us. We teach children to accept responsibility. We teach them to graciously give and receive forgiveness as key parts of their spiritual growth.
We strive to provide a creative learning environment to help children grow in knowledge. Hands-on, experiential learning is our primary approach to development of the mind. To foster learning and build relationships, we take field trips and invite visits from parents who share their vocations and hobbies. As children learn about their social environment, we help them to grow in what we call “Christ esteem.” As they gain knowledge about how the world works, we want them to know that God has created and blessed us all and that He wants each of us to be a blessing.
Preschool children grow physically at a rapid rate. We help children develop their coordination and strength through play. Indoor and outdoor play is a regular part of most days at Trinity Lutheran Preschool. Families are encouraged to bring in healthy snacks for children. And we reinforce basic healthy behaviors like hand washing and cleaning up after play. We help children learn about God’s creation as they discover we are “wonderfully made.”
Our Programs
Our play-based curriculum is designed to meet developmental needs of children ages 3 -5 years old. We have a mission to share God’s love by partnering with parents in the social, emotional, physical, spiritual and cognitive development of their child.

Parents are asked to provide a snack and drink for their own child each day. We encourage nutritious snacks such as fruit, raw vegetables, crackers and cheese. No nuts!

Yes! In the Fall, we take a trip to an area orchard or pumpkin patch. In the Spring, we visit a community building or an animal farm. Field Trips are for all our preschool children regardless of the days they regularly attend, unless otherwise noted. Most places allow siblings, however parents are responsible for their own entrance fees.
Will my child get to play outdoors during Preschool?
Yes! Weather permitting, children play outside each school day. We have a fenced-in play yard behind the building.
Testimonials
Our family loves Trinity Preschool for so many reasons.
We love that the teachers are so loving. They treat us like we’re beloved members of one family. At the preschool, our children are taught bible stories and how to pray. It was amazing that our oldest daughter, 3 years old at the time, wanted to pray at our family dinner one day without us ever asking her. When we read bible stories at home, she was already familiar with them. We are very happy with the reinforcement of Christian values.
Because of the wonderful experience we had with our oldest daughter, we are now sending our second child, soon to be 3 year old, to Trinity. It was also at Trinity that we met other Christian families who are now our dear friends. We highly recommend Trinity Preschool!

I’m writing this letter to let you know that our experience with Trinity Lutheran Preschool has been one of the highlights of our year we spent in Ithaca, New York.
I would highly recommend this program for any child. It has been the perfect balance for my daughter. She’s been happy with school since the first day and will be very sad to be leaving. I give credit to all three teachers who seem to always be in a good mood and always welcome you in with a warm feeling. They are always there to help out with the transition on even the not-so-best-of mornings. Likewise at pick-up time, we’ve always felt very informed on how her day went.
My daughter has really enjoyed all the field-trips. We like the fact that parents are always welcomed but never obligated to take part in these, if their schedules don’t permit.
My daughter has learned a lot this year. The program has had the perfect balance of academics, learning through play and learning about God.
We’re very sad to be leaving Trinity and wish we had the opportunity to have our daughter stay one more year. She’ll miss everyone. Thanks so much for all your hard work!!

My two older children loved attending Trinity Lutheran Preschool. They did so many fun activities like cooking, science, and art. The art projects that they did were based off of real artists, that they learned about. We loved how our children were excited to tell us all about the bible story they learned about.
